Top 100 Chemical Distributors, ICIS Report 2015

by JOSEPH CHANG, NEW YORK

Editorial

We bring buyers and sellers of chemicals the most comprehensive global listing of these key links to the global supply chain. Celebrate their diversity!

We are delighted to present the ICIS Top 100 Chemical Distributors listing – a global ranking of companies critical to the supply chain, creating more value for customers and developing new markets for suppliers. We strive to put together the most comprehensive listing of the world’s leading distributors, as well as smaller local ones, with key information on sales, geographic presence, product range, service capabilities and asset base.

The listing features companies beyond just the Top 100 globally in terms of sales. This year we feature 219 chemical distributors, with sales ranging from the single-digit millions of dollars to over $10bn. Even in a sector rife with consolidation, the sheer number of companies and the breadth of their diverse capabilities are impressive. While the large multinational distributors continue to grow organically and through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), it remains a very fragmented market, with many local players serving niche markets. The compilation of this listing would not be possible without the great support of key organisations. We thank the US-based National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), the European Association of Chemical Distributors (Fecc), Associquim (the Brazilian Association of Chemical and Petrochemical Distributors), the Canadian Association of Chemical Distributors (CACD) and the UKbased Chemical Business Association (CBA). This year we celebrate our sixth edition of the ICIS Top 100 Chemical Distributors.

"The sheer number of companies and the breadth of their diverse capabilities are truly impressive"
